Look Back ~ Let Go ~ Lean Forward

Look back, let go, lean forward

Looking back and reflecting on the experiences of 2019, I see life differently.  The last few years have been filled with challenges, change, growth and the continuous evolution of what life can give.

I’ve learned more than I could’ve imagined, and for that I’m grateful beyond measure.  The people I’ve met, and the opportunities I’ve created have allowed me to move through the tough times, with support, grace and mercy.  For that reason, I know that being resilient is within all of us.

It’s been said that you choose how to react to the people and events in your life.  Calm and reasonable choices occur in grounded moments.  We all are doing our best to react to life appropriately, but what if life sucker punched you?  Knocking you so off center it feels as though you’re in a state of constant vertigo.  Unable to catch your breath or stop the world from spinning.  Forcing you to navigate through life in emotional chaos.  Coping and living in survival mode can be tough to say the least.  It require us to take the necessary time to make the choice to heal and let go.

To let go and invest in healing has been an ongoing process of observation, mindfulness and reflection.  Readiness is key which is sustained by feeling supported.  I’ve always had the ability to encourage, empower and reassure others of what they are capable of.  I’ve had to learn to give the same encouragement, empowerment and reassurance to support myself throughout 2019 in particular.  I also reached out and connected with like minded people this year, who have faced adversity yet see life as a gift and the resiliency in others.  They are inspiring and empowering individuals that have helped me to revisit what motivates me to lean forward.

Lean forward and envision the life, love and successes you want.  Visualization of a good life (whatever that means for you), can feel stressful.  At least it stirs up some not so fun ‘stuff’ for me, but because of how life has unfolded this year I am reminded to keep going.  To slow down, to be mindful, to stay focused and remain positive.

A new year, a new decade!  What?!  2020 is fast approaching.  Have you made a list of resolutions?  OR have you set goals that motivate, inspire and fulfill you?  For most of this decade I’ve honestly been on autopilot to survive life, and I know I’m not alone.  The difference for me is that I will continue to lean forward, set reasonable and fulfilling goals, and sincerely try to envision a ‘good life’ for my family and I.

Cheers to the remaining days of 2019, and I wish you a Happy New Year!  May you enjoy a GOOD LIFE always.
